Antioxidant and anti-inflammatory
Due to its antioxidant properties with different flavonoids, Lime essential oil helps to neutralize free radicals in the body and thus prevent cardiovascular diseases, certain types of cancer and other chronic diseases. Extracted from the lime peel, its main flavonoids - eriocitrin and hesperetin - can reduce or prevent the increase in damage from oxidative stress.
In addition to the two, nobiletin can help to slow the growth of tumours and metastases.
Gastric Problems
Useful in cases of inflammatory enterocolitis and irritable bowel syndrome. Its anti-inflammatory and antispasmodic properties make it useful in the treatment of cramps, pain and inflammation which these pathologies trigger.
Circulatory problems
Like many citrus fruits, lime essential oil improves blood circulation thanks to its composition rich in limonene. It can be used both in reductive massages, varicose veins and cellulite.

Precautions
Lime essential oil should not be used during the first 3 months of pregnancy or in children up to 6 years old. It is a photosensitizing oil. Given cold pressing, this oil brings furanocoumarins that, on the skin can cause stains if exposed to sunlight. The alternative to this problem is the use of distilled oil, which does not carry this molecule with it. People with epilepsy should be careful with high dosages. \n \nIt is recommended that people with allergic tendencies take special care as it can cause skin allergies. In addition to their juices, lime and lemon oils should be avoided in people with gastroesophageal reflux disease, peptic esophagitis and hiatal hernia in their acute stages. These products can irritate the lining of the esophagus or cause epigastric burns.
